Art of Life course

3 week course Wednesday nights: 8, 15, 22 Sept | 7-8.30pm
At Metta Centre in person or via Zoom

Join us for a free 3 week course as we discover Buddhism and the art of life through art of tea meditation, mindful cooking, and spiritual creativity through natural materials. The course will be delivered online via Zoom, and if the Metta Centre hall has re-opened by then, participants are also welcome to join us in person at the Centre.
Course topics:
8/9: Art of Tea: experience Tea Meditation, learn how to set up your own Tea Garden and participate in a Tea Circle Ceremony. For this session please bring tea of your choice. If you have any fresh herbs, flowers, leaves, plants from your garden bring them along. We will be creating earth arts mindfully and heartfully
15/9: Art of Cooking: learn how to cook mindfully and heartfully with herbs and nature’s bounty. Bring along ingredients of your choice and we will cook together joyfully.
22/9 Art of Creativity: tap into your inner selves and creative outlet through art and crafts using materials from nature. Please bring some soil and herbs/plants and pots. Be ready to play with plants/soil joyfully.
About the Presenter:
Ling Halbert is a teacher, an Eco therapist, a grandmother and a facilitator. Inspired by her Lao-Chinese heritage, Ling teaches many techniques, including tea ceremony, mindful and heartful cooking, Taichi and Chinese knotting. Her passion is to motivate and inspire people to take responsibility and custodianship in looking after their physical, spiritual and emotional health and wellbeing; through handcraft and creative arts, gardening and cooking. Ling is currently working at a women’s health centre and is passionate about support and caring for women. Ling is a facilitator at WEAVE Parramatta and is also a Special Religion Educator.
