Studies prove that Buddhists are onto something when it comes to boosting wellbeing. Perhaps more than any other religion, Buddhism is associated with happiness. According to the Dharma, positivity and negativity are our own responsibility—and completely within our control. The Buddha’s teachings on how to improve mental, emotional and spiritual health are as relevant today as they were 2,500 years. So, how do we incorporate the vast and profound teachings into everyday life? Improve your wellbeing with this presentation from Daniel Troyak at Buddhist Counselling and learn the tools needed to gain mental, emotional and spiritual health.
About the speaker
Daniel is Australia’s first full-time Buddhist Chaplain. Having attended a series of in-depth programs on Buddhist meditation and mind-training in Australia, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Taiwan and the USA over several years, Daniel developed a grounding in a daily meditation practice and the transformative techniques he has learnt for everyday life in the modern world. Daniel trained in Clinical Pastoral Education and spent over five years as a volunteer chaplain in Sydney while working in international aviation and travel.
In his Buddhist counselling sessions, Dan incorporates traditional mindfulness meditation and contemplative skills as a tool that can be used by anyone for emotional processing, healing and growth. He was encouraged by his Dharma-teachers to bring his experience of a personal and professional commitment to mindfulness and meditation to his counselling. Daniel also gives support with contemplative end-of-life hospital care, is a volunteer mentor and a social visits community volunteer, supporting youth, vulnerable and elderly people in Sydney; and a disaster relief Chaplain for NSW.
